OUR PASTOR
Rev. Dr. David Krueger-Duncan is known around the congregation as "Pastor Dave". He and his wife, Shelby, arrived in February of 2013 and brought their new ideas and strong experience with them. Rarely seen in the pulpit, Pastor Dave delivers his messages walking among the pews. His teachings are always grounded in the scriptures and illustrated using PowerPoint on our new permanent screen in the sanctuary. It's all easy to hear as we have just installed a state of the art audio system. Both the screen and sound system are among the new initiatives led by Pastor Dave and embraced by the congregation. In his words, "We want everyone to hear, see and sense the love of God." Pastor Dave's early ministry was done in the Red River Valley in North Dakota and Minnesota. More recently he served 10 years with the new Open and Affirming "Northwest Community Church" in Las Vegas.
OUR CHURCH
We are a caring, Christian coummunity dedicated to spirtual growth, Christian education, local and worldwide missions. Our missions challenge us to open our minds and hearts and to reach out to all our neighbors.
The Cheney UCC is a local congregation affiliated with The Untied Church Of Christ denomination. The UCC is a place where no matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey you are welcome here. It's a place where religion is relevant again.
Our local church was founded in 1881 by eight charter members and became an affiliated UCC church in 1961. Our congregation is made up of 120 members and friends who participate and add to our strength.
As christians, we welcome differing viewpoints and beliefs and respect the dignity of all who share their faith with us. We believe that "God is still speaking" and that our faith changes and grows as we learn and gain experience throughout our lives.
